In today’s post-truth era, where facts are often overshadowed by emotionally charged narratives, "Cherry on Top" challenges audiences to question the nature of truth and its representation.
Drawing on research such as Guy Debord’s Society of the Spectacle, Carrie Lambert-Beatty’s “Make-Believe: Parafiction and Plausibility,” and the Buddhist Two Truths Doctrine, among others, the project explores the manipulation of information, the crisis of trust, and the interplay between layers of truth
The "Cherry on Top" symbolizes the final touch added to make a misleading narrative more appealing or believable. This motif highlights how emotionally charged details in propaganda, marketing, or media often distract from a lack of factual substance. Through layered installations and paintings, "Cherry on Top" uses striking visuals to provoke critical reflection on consumerism, media saturation, and the fragility of truth.
